HURRICANE SANDY: NEW YORK RELIEF EFFORTS

Sandy - Still 1 (400x300)When super storm Sandy hit the East Coast, The Humane Society of the United States immediately sent relief teams to New Jersey and New York to rescue and care for the animals affected by this terrible natural disaster. The images are telling on the devastation cause and the appreciation by the people affected who needed help with their companion animals during this hard time was tremendous.

Going to scenes like this ones, brings a whole new perspective towards humanity. I appreciate being there and help a little, but specially to be able to document and show the amazing work from the Animal Rescue Team from The Humane Society of the United States. The days were long and exhausting and the weather never got any easier. Shooting under this extreme conditions can be challenging and particularly though on the video camera.

I had a few hour to edit this piece after a long day of shooting, but I’m very proud on the outcome and the repercussions of our work there. Please feel free to visit The Humane Society of the United States and donate to their work.
